Libertine Brewing company
The Libertine Brewing Company was born in 2012 as a bold alternative to traditional American lagers, bringing a fresh wave of craft beer culture to California's Central Coast. It all started at The Libertine Pub on the Embarcadero in Morro Bay—one of the original craft beer bars in San Luis Obispo County. Here, locals and visitors alike were introduced to the world of Double IPAs, Barrel-Aged Stouts, and Belgian Sours.
By 2014, we took the leap into brewing our own Wild Ales, evolving into a fully operational brewery. Today, The Libertine is more than just a brewery—it’s a hub for creativity and connection. With a full bar, coffee shop, restaurant, and a stage for live music, entertainment, and events we’ve become a cornerstone of our community.
While much has changed since those early days, one thing remains constant: our passion for crafting authentic farmhouse beers and creating a space that’s as unique as the people we serve.

From intimate gatherings to grand celebrations, our diverse collection of private and semi-private rooms available to rent provide multiple options for any occasion. Early bird gets the worm — and the best coffee in town. Check out our coffee shop right next door to our main venue. We’re serving up locally roasted drip coffee, espresso drinks, and SLO’s favorite breakfast burritos daily.
