Burgundy Blues is a four-piece indie band that specializes in a groove-oriented, chill sound. It’s jazzy; it’s soft-rock-y, it’s slightly funky, it’s Burgundy Blues! See them live at Libertine on March 22nd.

Freak Slug Bio:
Instagram | Spotify | Facebook
A visual artist and painter as well as an unconventional, self-taught songwriter and musician, everything that fuels the creative output of Manchester’s Xenya Genovese, AKA Freak Slug, is about raw, authentic, sometimes weird but always totally true self-expression. She’s not one to sugar coat things; “I’m a lot, so it’s a lot to show who I am because some people might not like it,” she accepts. But in amongst the mix of an introverted extrovert, self described “avoidant” Leo rising, lives the sort of musician who can do nostalgic, ‘90s influenced and dreamy as well as eccentric and experimental. Down there, picking through the curious mix of sounds and feelings, lives Freak Slug
Hugely influenced by ‘90s cult heroes like Ride and Mazzy Star, Freak Slug is all about hitting a mood. A big, vocal character IRL, Genovese acknowledges that, when it comes to more internal matters, she finds life less easy. “I struggle to feel, in all honesty; music that moves me is the only way that I can feel sometimes. So if I can make something that makes me feel things, that’s cool cos I don’t get that opportunity often, and if I can make other avoidant people feel things, that’s cool too.” She laughs: “I’ve got the energy, I don’t need to listen to fucking drum ‘n bass. I’ve already got that!”
Huron John Bio:
Huron John evolves. A 24-year-old multimedia artist from Chicago, Illinois now based in Nashville, Tennessee, Huron provides a new layer of definition to the “do-it-yourself” indie standard. Entirely producing, writing, and engineering a now multi-album discography, the project’s genre-defying sounds proudly shapeshift into a rainbow-spectrum of moods and flavors. Using a wholesomely grassroots approach to independently amass over 35 million listens worldwide, they have carefully supplemented album rollouts with a multimedia angle including physical art books, interactive experiences, and most recently a full-length film premiered in theaters across select cities. Utilizing a ‘mystery-ridden online persona’ (-MTV) and a ‘day-tripper sound that delivers glitch juxtaposed with groove’ (-Ones To Watch), a mesmerizing melting-pot of alternative, electronic & sound-collage are delivered with ease.

TWO HEADED GIRL BIO
"Good Charlotte. Tegan and Sara. Now, Angie and Celeste.
Under Two Headed Girl, the Connecticut twins have continued the tradition in their self-proclaimed “twincore”, all the while exploring uncharted territory. Their full-length debut, “Media Naranja”, out on April 1st, explores the intersection of their queerness, their Puerto Rican heritage, and the tumultuous life experience called “living in Connecticut.” Beyond the reaches of emo, math rock, and punk, they meld together the frenetic noodling of Fall of Troy, the introspective pop of Rilo Kiley, and the fuzz-laden confessionals of Julie Doiron and their band’s namesake. The kind of record that’s just as apt for screaming along in the car with your friends as it is for cathartic wallowing alone. Let it soundtrack the teen soap of your life."
